Halloween Ghost Pizza
Tweet Share
This is a fun recipe for a Halloween party dish or just to entertain the kids during this spooky time of year. It’s simple to make and can be sized to fit your family or guests.
The basic recipe includes the following ingredients:
- Olive oil
- Pizza dough
- Tomato sauce
- Sliced mozzarella (pref. low moisture)
You can add more toppings as you’d like. Capers or olives make great eyes for the ghosts. The idea here is to cut the mozzarella into ghost shapes. Low moisture cheese keeps its shape better, so it’s preferred. Adding capers or olives to make the eyes adds fun and accentuates the ghost shape.
Spread the dough on a sheet or board. It works best if it’s in a square or rectangular shape so you can easily place the “ghosts” into positions allowing for one on each slice. Make sure the ghosts are on top of any other toppings you add.
Bake in the oven at 475F on a cookie sheet or other pan that has been brushed with olive oil. You can also grill this using your favorite BBQ grille crust recipe. The tomato sauce is a must, however, as it acts as a backdrop for the mozzarella ghosts and nothing is more classic than the contrast of tomato and mozzarella cheese.
Slice, serve and enjoy! This is a simple, but fun way to celebrate this spooky holiday.
